Saying Farewell To Chef Molly
Molly doing her thang
I can still hardly believe it! Our own Molly Prima, who has brought such laughter and enthusiasm to the kitchens at the inns, has moved on to pursue other opportunities. She remains a part of our island community, thankfully, and we’re all hopeful we will cross paths with her many times in the future.
Yesterday we gathered around the table at the Garden Room Cafe for a delicious farewell lunch of sticky rice, bulgogi, soup and salad. Conversation was kept to a dull roar – pretty typical around here – but through it all there was a bittersweet feeling in the air. We wish her all the best, but we’re all sure going to miss Molly around here. We toasted to her future and to her wonderful work at the inns, and in typical Molly fashion she cracked, “I’ll see you all tomorrow on payday!”
“Working with Molly was a pleasure,” said Anna Maria. “I loved her curiosity. To her the kitchen is a laboratory. She is always willing to try making something new or using a new technique to make a staple. She was never afraid to experiment or afraid of failure. If things didn’t turn out as she expected, she would use her creativity to figure out a way to repurpose it into something else. We will miss her and wish her luck in her new kitchen.”
Erin echoed those sentiments.
“For me working with Molly has been enjoyable. Molly is very easy to get along with. She nows how to run a kitchen and she runs the kitchen well. I will miss her; on the other hand I am very happy for her. I wish her all the best. Molly, you go girl! Do what you are meant to do and love every minute of cooking all that great food. Love ya girl! P.S., Cooper thanks you for bringing him home on that cold January night. You will be missed.”
Miss Wenda will be taking over breakfast duties, and we know she’ll do a fantastic job.
We will miss you Molly! Thanks for the meals and the memories.
