Attractions

Sunset Aug 11

The first attraction of San Juan Island is the peaceful surroundings.  No highway sounds, railway noises, aggravating traffic jams or vast asphalt parking lots here.  In fact, you can walk from your accommodations at Harrison House Suites to galleries, museums, the ferry landing, shops, restaurants, and entertainment.

You can drive along the Scenic Byway on the Island, visit an outdoor Sculpture Park, do some geocaching, pick blackberries, stop by a working pottery studio, and watch for whales from the shore of a State Park.

San Juan Island has their roadside oddities, too.  You might see alpacas, a dromedary, llamas, bald eagles or a teddy bear tree.

In the evenings, attend a local play or concert at the San Juan Community Theatre, browse through book stores, walk along the docks of Friday Harbor, or catch a first run movie.

We call it Island Time…an opportunity to immerse yourself in nature, feast your eyes on the waters of the Salish Sea, and take a break from the serious world of the mainland.    Come join us on San Juan Island.
